Dilophosaurus (Tokamøgle) was a large, vigorus built
Ceratosaur with a couple of leafthin loins, probably for
the looks. Maybe
the males would stand sideways towards another male and nod the
head up and down to seem taller than he really was. That may
have attracted females and scared away smaller males so that
Dilophosaurus could win the right to a female without fighting.
Pieces of what we think is Dilophosaurus have been found as far
from each others as Arizona and China.
Like Coelophysis the Dilophosaurus also had a marked curve in
the upper jaw with a gap between the teeth. Scientists believe
they are closely related, even tho Dilophosaurus was larger and
lived in early Jura, Millions of years after Coelophysis, who
lived in late Trias. The Twin Loins pointing up besides each
others in the head where too fragile to be used in battle.
Dilophosaurus would grow to be around 6 meters long, and would
eat anything as long as it was meat, and possible to catch. They
would most likely hunt in smaller or larger groups, depending
on the place they lived, the most common meat source etc. They
was believed to be quite fast, and they had scaringly sharp claws,
tho they are still beaten by the Velociraptor.
