Megalosaurus
<pictures coming>
Megalosaurus was the first Dino to get a Latin name still used.
In 1824, the british Scientist William Buckland described it
based on a piece of the lower jaw. Megalosaurus was probably
longer and stronger than Eustreptospondylus, with a large head,
thick neck, short strong arms and long strong legs. The three
main fingers on the arms had long strong claws. Still, there
has not yet been found a complete skeleton, and several of the
details are merely guessing. Megalosaurus lived in the middle
of Jura, just like Eustreptospondylus. There have been found
fossils in England, France and Portugal.
The first Megalosaurus discovered were armed with large, hoocked
teeth and must have been part of a large tall head. It even shows
new teeth that have been growing to replace old teeth as they
fell out, somtehing that was likely to happen when Megalosaurus
bit its prey.
